- How to use the soldering iron ?
Before using a new soldering iron, polish the soldering iron tip with fine sandpaper, turn on the electricity and heat it up, and after applying rosin, touch the solder wire with soldering iron tip to coat the soldering iron tip with a layer of tin evenly. Doing so can facilitate soldering and prevent surface oxidation of the soldering iron tip. If the old soldering iron tip is severely oxidized and blackened, the surface oxide can be polished off with a steel file to expose the metallic luster, and then re-tinned before use.
Preheating: The tip of the soldering iron is at a 45-degree angle, against the pad and component feet. Pre-heat the component pins and pads. The tip of the soldering iron tip should not stand against the copper-free position of the PCB, as this may burn the board into a trace;
The soldering iron tip should follow the direction of the line: the soldering iron tip should not plug the via hole: the preheating time is 1~2 seconds
Tinning: introduce the tin wire from the contact surface of the component pin and the soldering iron; when the tin wire melts, control the speed of the wire;
When the tin is scattered all over the pad, remove the tin wire; the tin wire should not directly lean against the tip of the soldering iron to prevent the flux from burning black; the entire tinning time is about 1~2 seconds
